The Sloecentrale complies with the latest and strictest environment and safety requirements in Europe. These requirements are aimed at eliminating risks and preventing noise nuisance in the vicinity of the power plant.

A power plant that generates electricity from natural gas emits carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx). The Sloecentrale is constructed in such a way that it emits 25% less carbon dioxide and 40% less nitrogen oxides than traditional coal-fired and gas-fired plants.
